About this Position

Do you love telling stories? Do you love teaching others? Do you love music? Then come join our programming team! NMC’s Educators are responsible for providing exceptional visitor experiences through programs, tours, and drop-in activities.

Reporting to the Programs Manager and working closely with a dedicated team across the organization, NMC’s Educators assist in the development, delivery and facilitation of programs at Studio Bell. Educators build upon curiosity by using inquiry-based learning to engage students in hands-on opportunities in gallery spaces, and classrooms. School programs are offered from September to June.

Public Programs: This position will play an active role in delivering tours and interpretive experiences for visitors in Studio Bell. Tours take place in galleries, studios, and classrooms. Tours are intended to delight and engage visitors through a combination of interpretation, storytelling and performances of the instruments on display. Tours are offered throughout the year in both public and private settings.

Gallery Activations: Activations are educational hands-on experiences designed to bring our gallery spaces and collections to life. While some of these activities are already developed, educators are actively involved in developing new gallery activations for both school programs and guests of the general public.

Summer/Spring Camps: Educators run week-long day camps in support of the National Music Centre's mission and vision. They create an immersive, creative, and fun learning environment to support campers in a variety of skill-building programs.
