SOCAN Academy Presents: SOCAN 101

Join us for a SOCAN 101 hosted by SOCAN’s LordQuest on November 6! This in-person session offers an introductory overview of how to collect Performing Right royalties, register your works, and explore the benefits of SOCAN membership.

The world of music rights and royalties is often complex.

In this free seminar you'll get an overview of what SOCAN does as Canada's largest music rights organization and the role it plays within the larger music industry and ecosystem.

SOCAN represents the rights of music creators and publishers for the composition (music and lyrics), so if you're a songwriter, composer, or producer this seminar is for you.

Join us and learn about what your SOCAN membership includes and how we have your back as a music creator.

When you're a member of SOCAN, you also enjoy many benefits, including access to helpful resources and funding opportunities, and support from SOCAN's Creative and Membership teams.

As a member of SOCAN you are joining a talented network of songwriters, producers, composers, and music publishers, like Drake, The Weeknd, Jessie Reyez, Michael Bublé and more than 185,000 creators and professionals just like you, working to build a career with your extraordinary creative craft.

Please bring your questions to the session as we will have time to take them at the end.

About SOCAN

SOCAN is Canada’s largest member-based rights management organization. We connect more than 4 million creators and publishers worldwide, ensuring they are paid for their work – the music we all enjoy. We issue licenses for the public playing, performance, communication, and reproduction of music. The money collected from these licenses is distributed as royalties to the rights holders who have earned them in Canada and worldwide.
