Created by the Coalition for Music Education in Canada, Music Monday celebrates the power of music and demonstrates how that power is rooted in school music programs. Each year, hundreds of thousands of children, youth, teachers, parents, music-makers, and community members across Canada join together in harmony to sing one song. Music Monday will be observed in many ways across the country — in school classrooms, special school assemblies, group concerts of area schools, concerts of community bands, and choirs with special events. On May 5, 2025 at 10:30 am MT, we will gather to sing this year's Music Monday song, Hold On.
Learn through the lens of music with a unique field trip experience at Canada's home for music! At the National Music Centre, our school programs ignite curiosity and creativity through the power of music. Designed to align with Alberta’s K-12 curriculum, we make learning fun by connecting the world of sound to subjects like science, math, language arts, and more. Led by talented musician educators, each program features rare instruments from NMC’s one-of-a-kind collection. Teachers can choose the perfect experience to complement their classroom lessons.
