Discover the trailblazing music of Oscar Peterson as the National Music Centre celebrates his 100th birthday. Join Montreal-born pianist Chris Tauchner as he interprets the music Peterson made famous, live in our special exhibition, Timeless: 100 years of Oscar Peterson. Included with your Studio Bell admission, performances begin at 12:30 pm and 1:45 pm.

ABOUT CHRIS TAUCHNER

Montreal native Chris Tauchner is a pianist, keyboardist, composer and educator who has performed across North America for over twenty-five years, focusing primarily on jazz, blues, soul, funk, and electronic music. He has appeared at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, Tremblant International Blues Festival, Canadian Music Week, North By Northeast, POP Montreal and TEDx Montreal, and played at such iconic venues as Place des Arts (Montreal), Le Spectrum, The Horseshoe Tavern, El Mocambo, and Zanzibar Blue. Chris is a graduate of both the Concordia University and McGill University music programs, was nominated for the Oscar Peterson Jazz Award, and won the Trevor Payne Award for Studies in Black Music. He has shared the stage or collaborated with artists such as Oliver Jones, Ranee Lee, Jeri Brown, Dave Turner, Metalwood, LEN, Montreal Jubilation Gospel Choir, Lorraine Klaasen, Digable Planets, K'naan, Lee Fields, and Bad Religion, among others.
