Join us for a special edition of Forever Young at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, with singer-songwriter, community advocate, and co-founder of the Music Mile, Bob Chartier, alongside Catherine Checora.
Bob and Catherine (Chartier and Checora) are a duet and a songwriting duo, featuring vocals, cello, and vintage guitar. We have played a few venues in the past year or so, such as the Pro Arts Presents, Leanne Lightfoot’s CD release, Art to Songs 2025 (High River), Eldersong 2025, The Venue Summer Series (High River), Water Valley Festival, and Wellspring.
Bob continues to do his work of growing the Eldersong program, an initiative to help elders discover or rediscover their own home grown music.
Catherine hosts a new morning open mic in Okotoks, with friends Dianne Harvey and Paula Briggs. It’s held monthly at the Old Church on Elma Street.
We’ve been the house band for the Inglewood Community Garden for the past while, and we are looking forward to creating Inglewood’s first weekly outdoor open stage event.
Check out our first homemade EP, called the Basement Tapes, a field recording made by our friend Jeff Bray in Bob’s pottery studio.
Forever Young celebrates lifelong connections to music, offering free Studio Bell admission for music lovers aged 65 and up every Wednesday. This engaging program invites seniors and their families to explore Canada’s musical heritage across five floors of exhibitions, bringing to life the stories — and soundtrack — of their generation through rare memorabilia and hands-on activities. Part of the National Music Centre’s commitment to using music as a tool for wellbeing, Forever Young creates welcoming spaces for seniors to gather and connect with music, community, and each other. Monthly drop-in programs will feature a variety of interactive experiences for all ages that spark memories, inspire creativity, and create connections across generations.
Studio Bell admission is free for seniors every Wednesday thanks to the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program.
