Scotiabank Backbeat presents: International Women's Day at Studio Bell

On International Women's Day, celebrate the women who play a role in Calgary's music and arts community alongside festivities happening around the world!

Enjoy a performance from local singer-songwriter Amelie Patterson and learn about the ways women are shaping music in Calgary during a panel discussion featuring Kaely Cormack (Femme Wave, The Shiverettes), Hayley Muir (Femme Wave, The Shiverettes, CJSW), Sameena Darr (NMC, Prairie Cholah Atollyah), Isis Graham (Alberta Electronic Music Conference, Girls on Decks, Substation Recordings, Esette), Kimberley Jev (KLS Management, Umoja Sessions, Afros In Tha City), and Miesha Louie (Girls Rock Camp Calgary, Miesha & the Spanks). Moderated by NMC's Manager of Education and Public Programs, and the only woman nominated for Best of Calgary's "Best Musical Act" in 2020, Jess Knights.

NMC will also host a donation drive for the Women's Centre of Calgary. For the donation of any one item from the "Basic Needs" list, you'll receive 10% off admission to Studio Bell*
