In recognition of World Alzheimer's Day, Studio Bell's Scotiabank Backbeat and JB Music Therapy present TUNE IN: Why Music Improves Mood and Memory with keynote speaker Jennifer Buchanan.
Based on Jennifer's book of the same title, this presentation will demonstrate that when we experience the right music, in the right way, transformation can and does happen. Like music, the tune in message is universal – it reaches people worldwide regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or location.
Hear inspirational research and studies that amplify the work happening at the intersection of music, health, and neuroscience.
Learn how music, and music therapy in particular can be a powerful source of joy and comfort for people with dementia and for those around them. Leave with a better understanding of how music affects your behaviours and actions and how you can leverage the information to your advantage in everyday life.
The event is being live-streamed below, and on the National Music Centre's Facebook page.
