Learn how to create playlists with purpose to improve mental health and address our human need to feel, create, and connect.

The Power of the Playlist is the National Music Centre's new playlist creation drop-in program facilitated by Jennifer Buchanan, founder of JB Music Therapy, and generously supported by Bell.

Track 7: Power Playlists to Boost your Motivation

Music invites you into the main auditorium when you’re attending a conference, it generates anticipation as the theme song plays at the start of your favorite TV show, it cues your mind and body to prepare you for the next movement at the gym. But, we cannot always stay motivated. Motivation comes in spurts. For some people, it lasts; for others, motivation is brief and fleeting. For all of us, navigating the dynamic moments of motivation in our lives means managing the “ups” and balancing them with periods of necessary rest. Music can be a very useful ignition for both.

In this session you will learn:

  • how music can motivate you day to day
  • how you can make music work at work, including feeling more productive and giving a boost to your team culture.
  • how music can influence and give a boost to your movement and sports performance?

Pre-registration is encouraged as spots fill on a first-come, first-served basis. You can sign up online in advance or drop in at Studio Bell.
