NMC, APTN and Canada’s Music Incubator present: Creators’ Circle

Three emerging Indigenous acts, Bebe Buckskin, Ghostkeeper and Carolina East, will receive a customized three-day mentorship program designed to develop their careers. Get a behind-the-scenes look at the artists and their creative process during a public workshop. You can also see them perform live during Indigenous Day Live 2019, hosted by APTN, on June 21 at Fort Calgary.

Making her way from the bush of Northern Alberta, Bebe Buckskin, a nêhiyaw singer-songwriter and matriarch, cultivates a delightful fusion of rhythm and blues, classic rock, and soulful roots.

Ghoskeeper's songs incorporate elements of '60s girl-group melodies, dashes of country royalty—Lynn, Wynette, and Cline—and a profound melodic sense drawn equally from ‘90s indie-rock, African-pop, and traditional Aboriginal powwow music.

Born in rural Newfoundland, Carolina East is a product of her community, proudly blending an eclectic tapestry of musical influences culminated from close connections with family and friends—everything from soul to country, rhythm and blues to traditional, rock to pop.
