Health & Safety Rules

On September 23, 2021, the City of Calgary implemented a Vaccine Passport Bylaw to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. National Music Centre has updated its policies based on this bylaw to ensure the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, and visitors.

Thank you for your kindness and respect to our staff as we try to protect our community from the spread of COVID-19.

As per the City of Calgary's bylaw, all visitors to Studio Bell (aged 12 and over) will have to show proof of vaccination or valid exemption to access to Studio Bell. Guests also will need to bring government issued photo ID that matches the name of the health records.

Please ensure that the required proof is ready for verification upon arrival to Studio Bell.

  • Proof of vaccination. Full vaccination includes two doses of any of the Health Canada approved vaccines.
    • Single dose accepted between September 20 and October 25 if received two weeks before time of service
    • Double doses required after October 25.
  • Documentation of a medical exemption.
  • Proof of a privately-paid negative PCR or rapid test within 72 hours of service (tests from AHS or Alberta Precision Laboratories not accepted).

What form of documentation do you accept?

  • Photo or scanned copy of your paper record from your pharmacy or doctor.
  • Screenshot of Alberta MyHealth Records from the website (Please note: the App version does not currently show a person’s name with the vaccination information).
  • Printed copy of the record.
  • Future options of vaccine passports/or similar with a “show and go” format if they become available.

Some people may be exempt from the bylaw and proof of vaccination requirement, including:

  • Those born after 2009 (i.e. children under 12). Children not yet eligible for vaccination as visitors shall have access to facilities only if accompanied by a parent/guardian who has provided proof of being fully vaccinated.
  • Those with proof of medical exemption.
    • Medical exemption letters must include: The name of the person in the written documentation that matches the identification provided.
    • The physician’s or nurse practitioner’s information is complete by including:
    • Name, phone number, contact information, professional registration number, and signature of the physician or nurse practitioner;
    • Statement that there is a medical reason for the individual’s exemption from being fully vaccinated against COVID-19; and
    • The duration that the exemption is valid.
  • Those with proof of religious exemption.

As vaccination status is considered personal information, NMC respects the privacy of our staff, volunteers, and visitors and will not be keeping personal health information on file once it is provided.

NMC is adhering to all Government of Alberta guidelines to ensure the safety of our staff, volunteers, and visitors. This includes rigorous cleaning practices and masks worn by all staff members while indoors, as well as one-way directional traffic.

You will be asked to follow all Government of Alberta guidelines while inside Studio Bell:

  • Please do not visit Studio Bell if you are feeling unwell.
  • Masks are mandatory in all indoor spaces.
  • Practice physical distancing: keep two metres between your household and others, continue to move through the building, and avoid crowding around exhibits.
  • Follow all posted directional or instructional signage.
  • Wash hands often for at least 20 seconds.

The following onsite amenities will be available:

  • Washrooms will be open, with increased cleaning protocols in place.
  • Hand sanitization stations will be located at Studio Bell’s entry and throughout the building. Please use them.
