STUDIO BELL GOES COUNTRY, EXTENDS HOURS FOR STAMPEDE 2021

FREE ADMISSION COURTESY OF ATB AND EXTENDED HOURS FROM JULY 9-18

(Calgary, AB — June 29, 2021) The National Music Centre (NMC) will be offering extended hours at Studio Bell and free admission courtesy of ATB for all 10 days of the Calgary Stampede, from July 9-18.

The additional hours will give music fans more opportunities to visit NMC’s country-themed exhibitions, and a myriad of textiles and artifacts from the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame Collection. Catch the Homegrown Country exhibit—which originally launched in 2019—showcasing some of Canada’s top country talents and the pioneers who paved the way for today’s rising stars.

Take in some spectacular country couture from the Hall of Fame, including Hank Snow’s “Nudie Suit,” Wilf Carter’s cowboy boots and saddle, and other fun performance outfits from Shania Twain, Lucille Starr, k.d. lang, and Gordie Tapp.

“As the official home of the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame Collection, you don’t want to miss Studio Bell as part of your Stampede experience,” said Andrew Mosker, President and CEO, NMC. “We’re located just 600 metres from Stampede Park and across the street from the reigning CCMA-winning Country Club of the Year, the King Eddy. There is so much for country music fans to explore in the East Village.”

Additional activations at Studio Bell include busker performances at 1:00 pm daily with country-pop duo Belle Cabin (July 9 & 17), roots-rocker Marcus Trummer (July 10 & 14), and blusey rock 'n' roll troubadour Matt Blais (July 11, 15, 16 & 18).

Make sure to cap off your visit to Studio Bell with a stop at the King Eddy’s main floor dining room or rooftop patio. The Eddy’s Stampede Happy Hour runs daily from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and features an all-Canadian lineup. The best part? There’s no cover. Plus, show your Studio Bell ticket stub to receive 10% off your bill. See more info on concert listings at kingeddy.ca/whats-on.

Studio Bell is open with free admission courtesy of ATB, July 9-18 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Reserve your tickets at studiobell.ca/general-admission. Please note: NMC will be using a timed-ticketing system, so tickets must be booked in advance and arrivals must be on time. Those without pre-booked tickets will not be guaranteed entry at their preferred time.

NMC will also be offering 50% off memberships for the month of July. See updated membership benefits at studiobell.ca/become-a-member. Becoming a member is a great way to support NMC’s charitable efforts and the future of music in Canada.
