Recognized annually across Alberta, Seniors’ Week takes place June 6-12, 2022. It is an opportunity to show appreciation for older adults and the many contributions they make to our communities, from volunteering with charities to supporting family members and friends. This year’s theme is "Move & Groove: finding inspiration that moves you," with the goal of inspiring Calgarians to find joy through dance, music, and cultural experiences.
In recognition of this call to "Move & Groove," National Music Centre and our partners at JB Music Therapy are proud to announce a special Seniors’ Week edition of FunDrum!
Drumming in a circle is one of the many techniques used by music therapists. Rhythm through drumming is known to accelerate physical healing, boost the immune system, and produce feelings of well-being — not to mention create feelings of connection between all participants.
On June 11, seniors (65+) are invited to partake in a special free FunDrum session at Studio Bell. Please register below through the online form or give us a call at 403-543-5115. Each senior can register for a maximum of two seats.
*Please note: caregivers do not need to register and can simply show up to the session.
In honour of Seniors' Week, Studio Bell admission will be free for seniors from June 9-12.
